Manchester City’s goal scored by Phil Foden was controversially denied by the referee and the reason for this is Erling Haaland.

Why was Phil Foden’s goal ruled out?

Manchester City went to Anfield Stadium to face Liverpool in the Gameweek 11 of the ongoing English Premier League. Both teams were able to create multiple chances despite not having to score on each side as the first half ended 0-0.

In the 52nd minute, Phil Foden scored an incredible goal from inside of the box. However, the referee decided to rule out the goal as he was convinced Haaland fouled during the build-up of the game.

City’s striker Erling Haaland grabbed and pulled the shirt of Fabinho as he struck the ball.
